Czech-Slovak Conference GRAFY 2010

General information

Traditional 45th Czech-Slovak conference on graph theory and combinatorics GRAFY 2010 will take place on 31st May - 4th June 2010 in the Lednice-Valtice area, well known for its exquisite wine and rich history. The conference venue will be situated at the Faculty of Horticulture of the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Lednice and at the University dormitory nearby.


Lednice is a small town which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as "an exceptional example of the designed landscape that evolved in the Enlightenment and afterwards under the care of a single family." The town contains a palace and the largest park in the country, which covers 200km². It is also renowned for its wine and there are many wine cellars scattered around the town - you could almost say that there is one in every household.

How to travel

Though being a really small site, Lednice is very easily accessible from Břeclav, a major Czech train station close to Brno, Bratislava, and Vienna.

Venue and equipment

The small campus of the Horticulture faculty in Lednice comprises a refreshing mixture of a modern university in a welcoming village-like setting. Basic accomodation for participants will be the dormitory in the faculty campus. Talks will be held in a modern lecture room inside the faculty and meals will be available in the local cafeteria with a choice from available meals. Wifi internet connection will be provided via eduroam, and all possible preparations have been made to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone.

Estimated costs

  • Conference fee - 2500CZK / 100Eur early advance payment (3000CZK on the spot). The fee includes the lectures, conference trip, invited speakers, and conference dinner (on Thursday).
  • Dormitory accomodation - 260 to 400 CZK (~ 11-16 EUR) per person and night (1-,2- or 3-bed rooms), prebooked by the organizers and payable after arrival.
  • "Better" accomodation - 500 to 3000 CZK per night (Štork, Jordán, Onyx, My****), individually booked by the participants!
  • Meals in local cafeteria - approximately 200 CZK per day, payable on the place.

Conference programme

The basis of the conference programme will be invited talks (approximately 50 minutes each) of Czech, Slovak and foreign experts in graph theory and related areas. Every participant will also have the opportunity of presenting his own short talk (approximately 20 minutes) on any research topic related to combinatorics or graph theory.
Abstract (1 page LaTeX) must be submitted by 29.4. 2010 to be included in the printed proceedings. Talks can be in English, Czech or Slovak.
